Solana Beach

Solana Beach is located along the northern coast of San Diego County with Del Mar to the south, Rancho Santa Fe to the east and Cardiff-by-the-Sea to the north. It offers 1.7 miles of coastline with four main beach parks; Fletcher Cove, Tide Beach, Seascape (Surf) and Seaside. They are hosts to several events offered year-round, such as the Fiesta del Sol in June with live music, great food and artisan booths. The year-round Farmers Market. Fletcher Cove is the main beach park within Solana Beach. It is a popular recreational park with a playground and grassy area. It is a popular spot for surfers, has dramatic bluffs along the beach and great caves carved into the cliffs by the surf to explore. It is nicknamed ‘Pillbox’ because of its history as a WWII Gunnery Installation. The park also offers Concerts-in-the-Park during the summer and Holiday Tree Lighting/Sing-a-long in December. Tide Beach Park is a secluded beach hidden by its bluffs and is only accessible by a staircase. It is known for its large reef, called Table Tops which provides beautiful tide pools to investigate. Along with great snorkeling, the beach provides excellent recreational opportunities for surfing, surf fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, body boarding, jogging, and walking. Seascape (Surf) Beach is a wide sandy beach that offers excellent swimming, surfing, body-boarding, snorkeling, and other water related activities. It is often is frequented by local residents. Many local surfers refer to the beach as Cherry Hill. Seaside is a good surfing spot with an outer reef called the Table Tops that break into big southwest swells. Downtown Solana Beach offers the Cedros Avenue Design District with over 85 one-of-a-kind shops, galleries and restaurants.
